Ultrapure coating of medical devices
Viscolma® is a suspension of ultrapure collagen type I fibers produced from bovine skin in a highly standardized industrial process. The insoluble collagen fibers retain their highly native structure and exhibit excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability.
The fibrillar collagen suspension with its putty-like consistency contains up to 15% collagen in water and can be used for individual research applications such as the development of 3D-scaffolds. Beyond that, Viscolma® with its excellent biocompatibility is the ideal material for coating of implantable medical devices and is the raw material for all our unique collagen membranes.
